Built in 1987 for the former ruler of Qatar Sheikh Khalifa as AL MENWAR, She was the largest yacht they had built and the yard went bankrupt while building her.

In 2003 she was refit and may have been sold to a Saudi national.

In 2006 she was sold to a Spanish owner and renamed YAAKUN which is the Mayan word for Love. She was refit again then departed on a world cruise along with the owners family. The cruise was expected to last 2.5 years.
