CALISTO OF NP is a 1954 Yacht Conversion from a minesweeper originally by Astoria Shipbuilding 1944

Originally built for the US Navy by Astoria Marine Construction Co. in 1944 as a 136ft YMS-1 Class Minesweeper, CALISTO OF NP was purchased by Thomas Loel Guinness and converted to a yacht in 1954. She is a "sister" vessel of Jacques Cousteau's LA CALYPSO which was also owned by Mr. Guinness and leased to Mr. Cousteau for 1 franc per year.
